His and Hers

His
Hers
Yesterday, we took a break from the rat race of houses and packing and headed off to the zoo with some friends for a few hours. The kids giggled at the monkeys, made hissing noises at the python, and made their best attempts to catch fish with their bare hands. Though the adults spent our entire time corralling the wee ones and making sure that no one went headfirst into the starfish pool, the time away was exactly what we needed.

With everything going on in our lives lately, letting our kids run around the zoo screaming at the top of their lungs with sheer energy and joy was cathartic for all of us. The littles burned off some energy and we were all able to enjoy brief snippets of adult conversation between bursts of It's my turn! and I'm sooo huuungry! It's days like these that make me ever so grateful that we have friends who have kids too!
