Vintage Style

Vintage Jewelry
Along with making an effort to wear more dresses over the past few months, I've been paying more attention to the things that I put with my outfits. Although I have a pretty eclectic taste in jewelry and accessories, my favorite pieces (besides my wedding bands) are vintage rings that have been passed down to me from different sides of my family.

On any given day, I'm wearing my favorite vintage ring that once belonged to a distant relative as a promise ring. It always sits next to my wedding bands and fits so comfortably. On the other hand, I mix it up on a daily basis. Sometimes, I wear an old bloodstone ring (pictured above) that was handed down to me which the toddler has fondly dubbed my "chocolate one" since it apparently looks like I'm embellishing myself with delicious snacks. Other days, I wear a ring that my grandmother gave me that had been a gift from my grandfather many years ago.

Although I adore those pieces in particular, I love hunting for vintage jewelry at our local antique shops. In my experience, the trick is finding a place that has really reasonable prices where you can afford not only the cost, but also the time to dig through a mountain of old broaches or necklaces to find the one that really fits your taste. Whatever the find, the thrill of the hunt makes it worthwhile and, if you're really lucky, you'll find a piece that you can treasure and hand down to someone special in years to come!
