There's a phrase that's been floating around the Internet recently: write the book you want to read. I read that on several of the blogs that I follow and really took it to heart. While I don't write books, I am responsible for the content of this little blog and it really wasn't what I enjoyed reading. My favorite blogs are picture-heavy. They aren't just a list of the things that moms take their kids out to do, but they show the adventures in the images. And finally, the blogs that I truly enjoy allow you to get to know the author, not just the offspring.
This is why there have been more pictures as of late and why I'm making a concerted effort to get out from behind the camera and take more pictures with my kids. It's great for posterity and it shares a little more of myself with all of you. I'm also planning blog posts in advance, jotting down ideas, and gathering inspiration for places that I want to explore with the littles (and share on this blog).
Things are definitely different around here, but I like the change. It better reflects who I am and what I want to share with all of you. Hope you enjoy!
Lalalove that saying! And I love the idea of getting to know the blogger and not just the offspring... something I, too, am working on. Can't wait to see the big change!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it tough? I find it so much easier to just take pictures of the littles... but getting out from behind the camera takes a concerted effort!
DeleteI love blogs with a lot of pictures too! N is such a sweetie! Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteThanks Verna :)
DeleteI'm so excited to see more of the adventures you take your kiddos on around here! It's so fun seeing you get in front of the camera, as well. I need to get better at doing that, myself. Do you just use a tripod and self-timer? I'm still a photog newb and have a lot more learning to do in order to find better ways to photograph our daily adventures. Right now, I just use my trusty iPhone.
ReplyDeleteI also think we need to get together for a play date. Your boy reminds me so much of Josiah, but with much more self-control. haha
Thanks Moriah! It's going to be interesting trying to have more adventures during the winter here but at least I will have some extra motivation to get out :) As for pictures, I just use a tripod and self-timer. It kind of sucks running back and forth but that's what we have right now so I make it work (unless Jonathan is around and then he gets to be the photographer).
DeleteAnd we would love to do a play date! Let me know when you're free and our little ones can wreak some havoc together!
