This week, I'm single-parenting it as Jonathan is gone up north on a camping trip with his buddies in the freezing cold weather. With SNOW. So while I'm enjoying the fact that our house has heat, I will be trying to retain my sanity as I attempt to keep the toddler from burning the house down. One day down... three more to go.

I spent most of the day yesterday giving the kids' playroom a new lease on life with a fresh coat of paint. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the process as it meant Mickey Mouse cartoons and the chance to make the living room couch into a "firetruck" by tearing the cushions off... something they are, ahem, not usually allowed to do. But this week, we're bending the rules a bit. See also: I like my sanity very much.

So bear with me as I soldier on through the next few days and (hopefully) find a bit more time to blog. It's that time of year where I'm getting a Pinterest itch and my creative side is just begging for some fun projects that I can't wait to share with all of you! In the meantime, have a great weekend... and wish us luck surviving the next few days!

  1. I am doing the same thing! Sophia is enjoying the extra TV time and my house looks like a tornado came through. At least I know I have a few more days to get it clean!

    1. Hahaha! My thoughts exactly! The house is a wreck but at least I've gotten a load of projects done- today it was painting the front door and making a DIY teepee for the kids (that one is still in-progress tonight). Whew... and thank goodness for a few more days to clean up! (That said... I miss having him here. A lot.)
