Q&A

Over the last few months, many of you have emailed or sent Facebook messages with questions for our little family so I thought it would be fun to take a day and talk about a few things that it seems that everyone wants to know!

Are you going to have more babies?
If only I had a nickel for each time that I was asked this question! Tentatively, yes. There's something that really appeals to me about a bunch of wee ones running around the house... but if the toddler's attitude this week is any indication, we may reconsider that decision very quickly.

Did you know that your pregnancy photo series is on Pinterest?
Yes, I've seen them floating around! I'm glad that other people have enjoyed using them as inspiration.

Are you still nursing your baby?
Although we have begun supplementing with formula, I'm still nursing Evelyn. We're down to nursing just once a day (before bedtime), but it's nice to have that dedicated time just with her.

Do you drink? If so, can I buy you a drink?
This is a tricky question because it's such a hot-button issue with nursing mamas. It's a very personal decision but for me, yes, I have a few drinks on occasion. We're always very careful with how that relates to nursing but now that we aren't breastfeeding as frequently, it's not as big of an issue around our house. And yes, feel free to buy me a drink.

What is your favorite place to shop?
I am, of course, a diehard Target fan for everything from groceries to camping gear and everything in-between. But my new favorite store is Tatters in Minneapolis. I could spend hours finding all sorts of thrifting treasures on those shelves!

How did you DIY the rug for your nursery?
That's an excellent question. I used a combination of paint and liquid fabric medium to create Evelyn's rug and I will be doing a step-by-step tutorial on it shortly. You know, just as soon as I have some free time.

What are your favorite cloth diapers?
We've tried a bunch of different brands for the kids, but my very favorite ones are the BumGenius Freetime diapers. No stuffing, minimal drying time- a parent's dream come true. If I had to buy our entire stash over again, that's all I would buy. In a whole rainbow of colors.

How do you make time to blog?
This is probably the question that I get the most from people when I'm talking to them face-to-face about writing. The honest answer is that I don't get as much sleep as I should (see also: it is now 1am) and I don't blog every day. I usually take a night or a naptime, set up several posts to publish throughout the week, and then go build a Lego tower for Nathaniel to find once he wakes up. I couldn't do it every day. If I did, I wouldn't have time to do anything else.

Why did you change your blog design?
Because of the limits of Blogger, I was continually receiving error messages when I tried to make simple changes. (Those of you using the mobile site could also see that the banner was no longer able to be changed.) All of this boiled down to the need to start from scratch with a new design. I was not a happy camper.

Who designed your blog?
I have designed and customized this blog entirely by myself. I love having a place to be artistic and for now, it's nice to have a creative outlet other than Playdough.

Why haven't you responded to my email/Facebook message?
So, so sorry. These days, I'm finding that I have to choose between blogging and responding to emails. Feel free to contact me, but please know that I may not have time to respond right away. I will do my best to get to it eventually though!

Why don't you review more products?
This isn't a review blog and though I get pitches from PR companies on the regular, I'm not interested in whoring out my space to make a couple bucks on the side. I will gladly share products or cool baby gadgets that I wholeheartedly recommend, but I hate reading other bloggers' sell-out posts just as much as you do. So don't look for just any old reviews in the future!

How are the braces going?
They hurt, thanks for asking. I have quickly remembered how much I hated wearing them as a teenager so I'm being really good about obeying all the rules this time in the hopes of getting them off early. There's really nothing like metal catching the inside of your cheek to make you appreciate eating in complete comfort.

Thanks for sending all of the fun questions! If you have more, feel free to leave them in the comments or send an email and I'll do my best to answer them!
