For the Grandparents

It's not unusual for the toddler to request a song at some point during the day so I've been slowly been weaning myself off of hard rock while simultaneously expanding my child-friendly song repertoire. Right now, that includes everything from Jesus Loves the Little Children to I've Been Workin' on the Railroad (yes, please send more suggestions my way).

This morning, I was in the next room over when I heard something out of the ordinary. It wasn't Evelyn screeching protest at her brother trying to ride her like a pony. It wasn't even Nathaniel jumping headlong off of the couch. As I froze and listened closely, I heard a quiet voice singing Jesus Loves Me. And then I made a beeline for my camera so I could capture the moment forever.

So this post is mostly for the grandparents because I realize that most of you have heard a kid sing Sunday school songs before. BUT HE'S JUST SO CUTE. So I'm sharing it with the whole world anyway.

To top off the sweetness of this experience, as we sat down and said grace before eating our lunch, Nathaniel combined his musical talent and the prayer we've been teaching him for the most unique blessing I've heard from him yet. God is great, God is good. Let us thank Him... Jesus wuves me this I know! For Bible tells me so! Little ones Him belong!... Dear God, thank you for day. Amen.

  1. Hearing your (my) child sing about Jesus is one of the sweetest sounds in the world! Now, before bed, Sophia likes to sing "God is so Good." I pray this is the beginning of their love for Jesus.
