Milking the Rewards

Me: Nathaniel, do you have to go pee pee?

Nathaniel: Nope.

Me: Are you sure?

Nathaniel: Nope.

Me: Well... let's just go sit on the potty and try. Remember what happens if you go pee pee on the potty?

Me: Sit down... good... you're doing it! Good job, buddy! Let's go get you a treat!

Nathaniel: YAY! TREAT!

Me: Let's get rid of the pee pee now. Time to flush!

Nathaniel: [Through a mouth full of chocolate] Bye-bye pee pee!

Me: Okay, now the potty is ready if you need to go again.

This was basically the conversation that we had after church on Saturday night. SEVEN TIMES IN A ROW. That's right- the kiddo was holding a massive amount of, ahem, liquid and decided to milk the whole treat system for all it was worth. We've now run out of one bag of M&M's (mostly because Jonathan and I have also been generously rewarding ourselves for merely surviving this ordeal) and we're powering through our second round of chocolate.

I think it's time to switch our reward system. Stickers, anyone?
