He Who Flings Toys Across The Room

Congratulations to our winner, Stephanie @ Confessions of a Trophy Wife, who was selected by random.org. Thanks to all who participated!

Like many other families of young children out there, we face the constant challenge of dropped toys. Or toys that may be pitched halfway across the room, depending on the temperament of the babe at that particular moment. And after picking up said toy for the 30th time, it gets a bit old. Especially when the floor is covered with mama hair and the remnants of the green bean disaster from the night before. So the toy is retired to the kitchen sink, where it awaits naptime to be sanitized and blessed with holy water before it is again subjected to the tortures of He Who Flings Toys Across The Room.

Enter Sullivan & Sawyer. Otherwise known as the wonderful company who saved my sanity. If they were here in my living room right now, I would bow down and kiss their feet. And worship the ground upon which they walk. That is, if it weren't utterly sacrilegious to do so.

Upon hearing of my plight to keep our toys off of the floor, Sullivan & Sawyer graciously sent out a toy clip. And after no less than fifteen minutes spent squealing over how adorable the clip was, it went straight to use! One end of the clip attaches to a toy, the other to a bib, shirt, or whatever piece of baby gear seems to be handy at the moment.

And now for the big question y'all are dying to ask... does it work? The answer, I am very happy to tell you, is YES! It works great! We strapped our toy clip onto Sophie and attached the other end to Nathaniel's bib. And once Nathaniel dropped his Sophie, approximately four seconds after he picked her up, SHE DIDN'T FALL ONTO THE FLOOR.

After the huge success with the toy clip, you can imagine how excited I was to try out the bib clip, which Sullivan & Sawyer sent out along with the toy tie. The bib clip is quite possibly the most useful baby item that you never knew you needed. That is, until you purchase one. And then you suddenly realize that you could use 6 more.

The bib clip is similar to the toy tie, but with clips at both ends. So if it's green bean night for the babe and you suddenly realize that all of your bibs are in the laundry, there isn't cause for panic. The nearest towel, napkin, or burp cloth will do the job nicely. And will save you the trouble of scrubbing out whatever green beans may have cemented themselves into the babe's shirt during dinner.

The best part about the toy and bib clips? Your baby won't be able to remove them. These clips are STURDY and very child-proof.

Because I want my readers to be able to experience the same glee I had when I pulled the clips out of my mailbox and did a little happy dance right next to my PO box, I'm sharing this experience with you! Sullivan & Sawyer has offered either a toy clip or bib clip (your choice) to one lucky reader!

This time around, the giveaway rules are going to be easy. To enter, you must be a public follower of the Adventures of the Stay At Home Mom on Google Friend Connect, which can be found in the right-hand column of the site. Leave ONE comment, telling me about your baby's favorite toy. Or, if you're pregnant or don't have kids yet, tell me about your favorite childhood toy.

The giveaway will close at 12:00am on May 15. Winners will be selected via random.org and will be notified by email. Best of luck to all who enter!

Disclosure: I was not paid to write a review on either the Sullivan & Sawyer Toy Tie or Bib Clip. Although I received both items for the purposes of a review, the opinions expressed are my honest view of the products. My thanks to Sullivan & Sawyer for providing their products.

  1. My boy loves his Tummy Time Snail from Fisher Price. The snail's body is a mirror so that he can lift his head up to look at himself, the snail's head lights up and sings songs and says things like "Yipeee!" at random intervals. Then as LO starts to crawl, the snail moves along the floor on wheels.

  2. My daughter loves this little Monkey toy (rattle type thing) - it's Fisher Price, you can hold him by his tail or by this circle that's between his hands and has fruit hanging from it.

She also likes the Fisher Price 1 2 3 Crawl with me turtle, now that she doesn't dispise tummy time quite as much. It's got a mirror and talks when you it it. Plays a few seconds of If You're Happy and You Know it. Also slids across the floor for when they are crawling.

  9. Andrew loves a toy that we don't really know what it is. It's part butterfly, part catepillar, and part FROG?!?!
It has crinkly ears, his head lifts up to expose a mirror and there are a bunch of rings for him to hold onto and chomp on. He smiles everytime we bring it out to give him to play with.

  10. At the moment, Sophia's favorite toy is known as the "Love Bug." It is a colorful fabric toy that has a little bell inside, flappy hands and wonderful antennas, that are simply great for chewing. We have just recently introduced Sophia to Sophie the Giraffe and hope she will, too, fall in love with her :D

  23. By the way, your blog is fabulous. As is Nathaniel's cute face.

My baby Lila's favorite toy is her hand. Because let's face it, what could be more stimulating and exciting to a 9 week old baby than a yummy, chubby hand?? It's just...there...and so squirmy...and has lots of fingers. Yum!

  24. Well, while my Mom was pregnant with me she got a stuffed bear as a gift for me. Well, needless to day it was my first best friend and still is to this day!!! His name is Rob and growing up I could never be without him. He was always my best friend (I had him since before I was born)-how could he not be my best friend? He would always be placed on my bed as I grew older and still was up until I became pregnant. Rob has a new home now - my Son's nursery!!! I was in the hospital a couple of weeks ago and when my Husband went home to pack a bag for us he came back to he hospital with Rob :) He handed Rob to me in my bed and said I wanted to make you feel better. That was too sweet!!! So, yes, Rob was my favorite toy as a child and still is an important part of my life and I look forward to sharing him with my Son!!!
