Step Right Up

I know I've discussed postpartum hair loss before. But this is ridiculous and the horse isn't dead yet so here we go again. I'm finding hair everywhere and it just DOESN'T STOP.

There is hair on my bed, on the couch, on the floor, and don't even get me started about the shower. It's way past disgusting and has officially entered the realm of freakish. In fact, I am considering joining the circus. Step right up to see the bald lady!

A few days ago, I was changing one of Nathaniel's many dirty diapers. I opened the diaper and what did I see? A mama hair.

And that's not even the half of it. I am CONSTANTLY picking hair off of my clothes and those of my family.

Now, as much as I try to convince myself that I won't go completely bald, there is a small voice in the back of my mind that tells me it just might be possible. And hearing stories from friends who tell me about mothers who actually lost so much hair that they went partially bald certainly isn't helping. DO YOU HEAR ME? IT ISN'T HELPING.

I was recently on the Bump.com when I saw a question posted about postpartum hair-loss. The woman posted, asking how long it continues. Some mothers answered saying four months or six. One mother replied that hers continued for 8 MONTHS.

That was the point where I stopped reading.

Because if this continues for 8 months, I am going to hole myself up in the house until I can regrow some hair. So let's hope it doesn't come to that.

And now if you will excuse me, I need to take a lint roller to my tank top. And if I have any hair left afterwards, I'll be sure to let y'all know.

  1. I am so right there with you! It's bordering on embarassing. I have bald spots above my temples, where when I wear my hair up, I look like a complete freak. And it's seriously gross to find hair in our food and my babies diapers. I wish it would just stop already!!

  3. Oh I completely forgot to mention finding it in our food. That is one of the worst places to find it!

  4. My hair loss just started and it is driving me crazy. I get a couple of handfuls of hair every time I shower and then when I start to blow dry and straighten, a couple more handfuls. It's driving me crrrazzzy!

  5. Aw, I hope yours doesn't last long! I've been trying to avoid combing my hair since that takes chunks out of it too!
