Losing the Spare Tire: Results Show Week 4

It's Thursday again and that means another installment of my weight loss stories. This week's lesson? Having a child who fusses at night is not conducive to losing weight!

Since Nathaniel isn't sleeping quite as peacefully these last few nights (which means that mama and daddy aren't either), the idea of getting some much-needed exercise went right out the window this week! I am admitting that I completely disregarded one of my goals for this week since I didn't work out once.

Although I didn't get the exercise I had planned, I did successfully eat more vegetables this week (even a salad... quite the feat for those of you who understand my feelings toward vegetables).

I'm not sure if it was the vegetables, the nursing, or just trying to eat more sensibly, but I did manage to lose a pound and a half for the week so I'm calling it a success! This coming week, I am resolving to exercise at least twice and continue make overall good choices in what I eat.

I am also adding a different resolution to this list of goals: I will cut down on my consumption of Diet Pepsi for the week so that I am not drinking it on a daily basis. [Insert gasps of surprise and a smattering of applause.] Although my unfaltering love of Diet Pepsi continues to play an important role in my life, I am going to attempt to drink a bit less this week... since my husband and mother have been bravely attempting to wean me off of my crutch for years!

So in honor of the fifth week in the effort to lose the spare tire, I raise my glass of water to you all. Here goes nothing...
