Day Two: Moo

Don't expect daily updates on my adventures in motherhood, but I felt that today was distinct enough to warrant another post. Today was drastically different from yesterday and I am so grateful that we can look back at the previous day and know that there are and will be more easy days to come.

Today started off rather early when Nathaniel decided to wake up and ask to be fed before mama was awake. We handled it and actually managed to get in a brief nap together after he finished eating. The diaper change that followed the nap was less idyllic, as it ended with pee all over my little boy's face. This warranted a bath, which we conquered next. The bath was a bit challenging as Nathaniel wasn't particularly fond of the idea this morning, but we ended up with a clean baby.

Moving forward several hours, Nathaniel decided it was essential to eat once an hour. If he was able to speak, I imagine it would have gone something like this: "I demand to eat once an hour, on the hour... and don't forget my bib, wench!" Yes, we have been eating a lot today, hence the title of this blog. Although the nook usually works to calm my occasionally fussy guy, it was useless this afternoon so we resorted to feeding once an hour, on the hour... with the bib.

Following the three o'clock feeding, there was clearly a need for a subsequent diaper change. We headed back to the nursery to accomplish this great feat, only to wind up with pee all over mama. This is why my little boy is snoozing in his bouncer in his pajamas: his other clothes are currently in the laundry. Thankfully, he doesn't seem to mind and once again, the bouncy seat saves the day!

Today hasn't been a bad day by any means, just a bit challenging. On the positive side, Nathaniel and I were visited by his great-grandparents today; it was so wonderful to be able to spend a little time with them and for Nathaniel to meet more family!
And so the day continues on. Who knows what adventures tonight will bring? Regardless, I will be keeping the nook and bouncy seat close at hand...

  1. I like the little boxing gloves!

  2. I'm glad my son isn't the only one who needs to eat every hour!
